Cry for Me, Argentina!

In the early 20th century, Argentina was one of the richest countries in the world. While Great Britain ‘s maritime power and its far-flung empire had propelled it to a dominant position among the world’s industrialized nations, only the United States challenged Argentina for the position of the world’s second-most powerful economy.

It was blessed with abundant agriculture, vast swaths of rich farmland laced with navigable rivers and an accessible port system. Its level of industrialization was higher than many European countries: railroads, automobiles and telephones were commonplace.

In 1916, a new president was elected. Hipólito Irigoyen had formed a party called The Radicals under the banner of “fundamental change” with an appeal to the middle class. (“Fundamental change”… now where have I heard that recently?)

Among Irigoyen’s changes: mandatory pension insurance, mandatory health insurance, and support for low-income housing construction to stimulate the economy. Put simply, the state assumed economic control of a vast swath of the country’s operations and began assessing new payroll taxes to fund its efforts. (Beginning to sound more familiar?)

With an increasing flow of funds into these entitlement programs, the government’s payouts soon became overly generous. Before long its outlays surpassed the value of the taxpayers’ contributions. Put simply, it quickly became under-funded, much like our Social Security and Medicare programs. (As will our Health Care and other programs!)

The death knell for the Argentine economy, however, came with the election of Juan Perón. Perón had a fascist and corporatist upbringing; he and his charismatic wife aimed their populist rhetoric at the nation’s rich. (Sounds more and more like our current death march into total collapse!)

This targeted group “swiftly expanded to cover most of the propertied middle classes, who became an enemy to be defeated and humiliated.” (And, more!)

Under Perón, the size of government bureaucracies exploded through massive programs of social spending and by encouraging the growth of labor unions. (Do you see the light?)

High taxes and economic mismanagement took their inevitable toll even after Perón had been driven from office. But his populist rhetoric and “contempt for economic realities” lived on. Argentina’s federal government continued to spend far beyond its means. (Can’t happen here you say…Yes it Can!)

Hyperinflation exploded in 1989, the final stage of a process characterized by “industrial protectionism, redistribution of income based on increased wages, and growing state intervention in the economy…” (Will Never Happen Here…it has already begun!)

The Argentinean government’s practice of printing money to pay off its public debts had crushed the economy. Inflation hit 3000%, reminiscent of the Weimar Republic . Food riots were rampant; stores were looted; the country descended into chaos. (Impossible! Do not wait to STOP IT!!!)

And by 1994, Argentina ‘s public pensions — the equivalent of Social Security — had imploded. The payroll tax had increased from 5% to 26%, but it wasn’t enough. In addition, Argentina had implemented a value-added tax (VAT), new income taxes, a personal tax on wealth, and additional revenues based upon the sale of public enterprises. These crushed the private sector, further damaging the economy. (Can only happen in those lesser countries! No, ARGENTINA was a World power stronger than the US!)

A government-controlled “privatization” effort to rescue seniors’ pensions was attempted. But, by 2001, those funds had also been raided by the government, the monies replaced by Argentina ‘s defaulted government bonds. (Hmmmm….just what is about to happen in the US!!!)

By 2002, “…government fiscal irresponsibility… induced a national economic crisis as severe as America ‘s Great Depression.” (Will we set on our hands and let that happen again… will we?)

We’ve seen this movie before. The politician’s populist plans NEVER work, because power corrupts and government bankrupts everything it touches. For those that will listen, history shouts over and over that we cannot sustain the wild spending and government takeover of business, banking, health care, and continue to inflate unfunded entitlement programs! Like history tells us, it will be utter and complete disaster!!!

Today’s politicians are guilty of more than arrogant stupidity; they are enslaving future generations to poverty and misery. And they will be long gone when it all implodes. They will be as cold and dead as Juan Perón when your children and grand children must ultimately pay for the blind arrogance of politicians!

PS…. while working America cuts back… Congress just increased “government expenditures” by 12% in the “Omnibus” spending bill of nearly half a TRILLION!

Here is just one example of “Government” waste…last year there was ONE person in the entire Dept. of Transportation making over $170,000!
This year that same “Government” Dept. has 1690 people making over $170,000! They are paid over $300,000,000 of our tax dollars for what????

Is your employer, or ANY company, doing that well? NO, they’re losing their business, being forced to lay off tax-payers, and having Democrats increase their taxes.
AND, this Democrat sponsored Omnibus bill has 5,224 earmarks (totally waste-full pork-barrel pay-offs) totaling $4,000,000,000! That’s your wasted taxes and mine tossed to the wind without a single care for the hard, hard work we women (and men) put into our jobs!

Now 100 years later, people are waking up to the fact that the “Federal Reserve Act” was just a power grab that the big banks and our own government conspired against us on.

Now, the health insurance and pharmacy companies are about to work with the U.S. government again to steal another 17% of the U.S. economy in a very obvious power grab.  They will tell us it is to ‘help people’ and it’s for the ‘greater good’ but in actuality it is another way to tax and regulate us, and force us into giving our money to private interests as well.

Only 38% favor the health care takeover but rest assured, it will pass.  The government does not care what the people want, it only cares what it’s financiers want especially if it gets to accumulate more power along the way.

Worst of all, after this bill passes and after the republicans have more control in Washington D.C. again, they will not try to turn things around.  They will not get rid of the socialized health care, just like Obama did not get rid of our wars.  Fact is Republicans and Democrats are both  bought and paid for by the same special interests and the American people are too busy watching football and American idol to notice that they are being robbed left and right.  American politics are like a Don King fight – both fighters are under the same owner.

Well, I have done it! I have read the entire text of proposed House
Bill 3200: The Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it
with particular emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law.
I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that were being
discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found was far worse than
what I had heard or expected.

To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and its
implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and the media
are saying. The law does provide for rationing of health care,
particularly where senior citizens and other classes of citizens are
involved, free health care for illegal immigrants, free abortion
services, and probably forced participation in abortions by members of
the medical profession.

The Bill will also eventually force private insurance companies out of
business and put everyone into a government run system. All decisions
about personal health care will ultimately be made by federal
bureaucrats and most of them will not be health care professionals.
Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations of
necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled.

However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface. In
fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no intention of
providing affordable health care choices. Instead it is a convenient
cover for the most massive transfer of power to the Executive Branch of
government that has ever occurred, or even been contemplated. If this
law or a similar one is adopted, major portions of the Constitution of
the United States will effectively have been destroyed.

The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of power
between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial branches of the U.S.
Government. The Congress will be transferring to the Obama
Administration authority in a number of different areas over the lives
of the American people and the businesses they own. The irony is
that the Congress doesn’t have any authority to legislate in most of
those areas to begin with. I defy anyone to read the text of the U.S.
Constitution and find any authority granted to the members of Congress
to regulate health care.

This legislation also provides for access by the appointees of the
Obama administration of all of your personal healthcare information,
your personal financial information, and the information of your
employer, physician, and hospital. All of this is a direct violation of
the specific provisions of the 4th Amendment to the Constitution
protecting against unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also
forget about the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into
oblivion regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may provide.

If you decide not to have healthcare insurance or if you have private
insurance that is not deemed “acceptable” to the “Health Choices
Administrator” appointed by Obama there will be a tax imposed on you.
It is called a “tax” instead of a fine because of the intent to avoid
application of the due process clause of the 5th Amendment.
However, that doesn’t work because since there is nothing in the law
that allows you to contest or appeal the imposition of the tax, it is
definitely depriving someone of property without the “due process of
law.

So, there are three of those pesky amendments that the far left hate so
much out the original ten in the Bill of Rights that are effectively
nullified by this law. It doesn’t stop there though. The 9th Amendment
that provides: “The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights,
shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the
people;” The 10th Amendment states: “The powers not delegated to the
United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States,
are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Under the
provisions of this piece of Congressional handiwork neither the people
nor the states are going to have any rights or powers at all in many
areas that once were theirs to control.

I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I think you
get the idea. This is not about health care; it is about seizing power
and limiting rights. Article 6 of the Constitution requires the members
of both houses of Congress to “be bound by oath or affirmation” to
support the Constitution. If I was a member of Congress I would not be
able to vote for this legislation or anything like it without feeling I
was violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it anyway
I would hope the American people would hold me accountable.

Why can’t we just be free?

The original concept of this post was going to be to do an “about Bush” section and an “about Obama” section and relating them to ‘we the people.’ I was going to write about Bush’s terrible patriot act and Obama’s failure to fix it (which was predictable). I was going to write about Bush’s bailouts and how Obama (predictably) did the same thing. I was going to write about how neither party is truly different from the other anymore – only in trivial issues. I was going to write about how both are bought and paid for and employed by the same wealthy parties and that nobody in our Government has been working for the American citizens since President John F. Kennedy.

I changed my mind however because that post was going to turn out to be incredibly long. I realized that if people truly want to know who owns their Government, the information is easily accessible. Just follow the money, and research the Federal Reserve Bank. It does not take even remote intelligence to realize that we are all being fleeced.

At first, I wanted to write about the Revolution and remind everyone why we broke free and created America. The thought of freedom – true freedom to do whatever it is that we want resonates in me very strongly. A quote I think of frequently is this “if we are only free to make good decisions, are we truly free?” I also think – if we are only free to spend two thirds of our paycheck, are we truly free? If our money is spent against our will for golden para-shoots for finance oligarchs, given as bribes or earmarks… are we truly free? If we can’t choose our schools or doctors are we truly free? If we are surveyed against our will as the Patriot Act allows, or if we can be secretly put on lists for our party affiliation are we truly free? This list could go on and on.

As you can see, writing about the fallacy of Bush, Obama, and Government could go on forever and be *almost as long, complicated, and confusing as our taxation code. Instead I just thought I’d post what I believe in, and invite readers to educate me – why are my beliefs impossible?

I believe in freedom – I believe individuals should be able to make whatever choices they want as long as those choices do not hurt another person legitimately.

I believe two consenting people should be free to marry regardless of what others think.
I don’t believe they require permission form anyone, especially the Government.
I believe non violent religion should be free to practice in any way they wish. I believe they can endorse or condemn whatever lifestyles they want no matter how others see it.

I believe people should be free to spend their money how they wish – heaven forbid if they don’t give any to charity. I pray to God we all would choose to – I know I would and do.
I believe (on average) one third of your paycheck required to the Government is far, far too much. However, if those who enjoy taxation wish to give 50% or 75% to the Government they should feel free to do so.
I believe only sales tax should be required. Income tax has only been recognized by the Supreme Court since 1913 (coincidentally the same year the Federal Reserve was created) which means that in our prime we operated without income tax and should still be able to do so.
I do not believe that people will realize that Government has destroyed everything it has touched (education, post office, medicare/cade, aamtrack, social security, the list goes on forever).

I believe in my fellow men and women and do not think we need to be micro-managed.
I believe these two parties are tearing us apart. Part of me believes that this is by design. If we fight with one another, we won’t fight with ‘them.’
I believe elections work like a Don King fight where both parties are puppets of the same wealthy influences.
I believe if we all truly understood freedom – live and let live – we would all see how both parties oppose us in our pursuit of the American Dream. By definition “Government” is to Govern – unfortunately it is the opposite of living freely.

I believe that the country we created has turned into the country we tried to escape from and unless we ‘wake up’ it will continue down that path. Quick example: one of the primary reasons we created America was to escape the manipulative central bank of England which was committing economic crimes against the people, much like our Federal Reserve Bank does today.

Sadly, I don’t believe that anyone will read this or anything like this.
Even more depressing; I don’t believe anyone will even think these thoughts of true freedom.
I think people will watch football and American Idol and entertain themselves to death while their civil liberties and their freedom is stripped away from under them.

It’s been said that people do not truly want freedom, they just want to be well fed and entertained. I do not believe this is true, but I believe we are too entertained to know that what we do truly desire is freedom.

To anyone that made it to the end, thanks for letting me vent. If anyone can help me understand why the freedom to choose our own lives and paths won’t work please explain it to me.

Yep.  We’re doomed.

I just saw the Obama Celebrity video that will mark an “unprecedented address to all public school students” on September 8.”  The text from the presumptions video is included below – unfortunately the actors and actresses who made these pledges are not indicated – I’m VERY proud to say that I don’t recognize many of them, and the ones I do recognize I’d struggle to remember their names.  Actually, I encourage everyone to NOT CARE and DON’T figure out who they are.  Politics are corrupt enough – the last thing we need to do is give them the power of the ‘popularity contest’ that modern entertainment (celebrity) is.  The best thing we can do is never learn another celebrity’s name again.  Let’s try to learn the names of honest politicians, sincere medical doctors, and hard working patriots.
